BOTH THERE FROM THE START: Colin Butler with Childline founder and TV star Esther Rantzen.
CHILDLINE founder Esther Rantzen was the special guest at a fund-raising evening held on Friday by local supporters of the charity.
She gave a short talk and signed copies of her new book at the event organised by Malvern Friends of ChildLine and held at the Worcester Warriors Sixways headquarters.
Colin Butler, chairman of the Friends group, has known Esther since the very start of ChildLine in 1986, as he was a phone volunteer alongside her on the charity’s opening night.
Malvern Book Cooperative supplied copies of Esther’s book.
The evening made a profit of £682.
