Have you got time to help elderly?
KIND-hearted people are being sought to offer shortterm care and support to elderly people returning home after stays in hospital.
Age UK Herefordshire and Worcestershire is looking to recruit good neighbours for its new Home from Hospital service, which is launching on April 1.
The charity is keen to hear from anyone aged 18 or over who can spare a few hours during the day, evening or at weekends to help elderly people regain their independence as they re-adjust to living at home.
Spokesman Sue Hawkins said: “The service provides short-term practical and emotional support to older people for up to six weeks, which can include help with shopping, collecting prescriptions, light household tasks and attending healthcare appointments.
“You will see the difference you can make to someone’s life by helping them on the road to recovery.”
Professional training is provided and anyone interested can call 0800 0086077.
