YOUNGSTERS from a Malvern primary school were asked to consider their goals, aims and aspirations during a special careers day.

Pupils from years five and six at The Grove Primary, in Pickersleigh Grove, had an exciting afternoon as 20 visitors arrived at the school to tell them all about their various fields of employment.

Banking, teaching, the police force, civil service and tourism were all represented and governor Ann Lord said: “The area that was taken over by robotics engineers with actual robots proved particularly exciting.”

She added: “The children worked their way around the room with their diverse lists of questions to individuals who had willingly given up the time to inspire them.

“The overall message was to encourage the children to think ahead and find out about a variety of possible career paths for the future.

“It certainly had an impact on the youngsters and on the visitors, too, who felt very rewarded for working with such enquiring young minds.”
