US love affair with Cher gets stronger

AMERICA’S love affair with Cher Lloyd is showing no sign of fizzling out after her latest Stateside single proved a hit on the airwaves.

The Malvern 19-yearold’s current release With Ur Love, featuring rapper Juicy J, has received airplay on more than 20 American radio stations after topping PopCrush’s About to Pop poll with almost 89 per cent of the votes.

Having already enjoyed platinum success with previous single I Want U Back selling more than a million copies, the pop star beat the likes of Emeli Sandé and OneRepublic to secure the honour.

The song’s official video was release last Thursday, Valentines Day, and Cher has been keeping fans interested by posting sneak preview photos to her 3.4 million Twitter followers.

It starts 2013 in a similar fashion to the way the former X Factor finalist ended 2012, a year which saw her give a US release to her debut album Sticks & Stones in November and perform live on Good Morning America in New York, the Ellen DeGeneres Show and Dancing With The Stars.

Why? Cher Llloyd was a young girl who proved that if you have a dream, work hard and believe in yourself, it is possible to achieve anything. A female rapper from Malvern making it in America! Do the people of this town not feel even slightly ashamed how this girl who could be an amazing insperation to some of the many young people in Malvern gets such negative comments? Well done Cher on your recent success!

"if you have a dream, work hard and believe in yourself"

Or if you have about as much talent as all teenagers (that's a compliment to teenagers by the way), but are LUCKY enought to fluke an appearance on a show designed as a vehicle for folk whos own careers are flagging, and are gobby enough to stand out, then Cheryl will support you because it makes her look good.

It's not about talent or music, it's about making money.

Good luck to her though, and whilst she's over their, she isn't polluting the airwaves here with her and her lightweight forgettable muzak.
