191 had no TV licence

TV LICENSING has revealed 191 people were caught watching TV without a licence in Malvern during 2012, 686 in Worcester and 130 in Evesham.

The average evasion rate remains at just over five per cent, meaning almost 95 per cent of homes are licensed.

Mark Whitehouse of TV Licensing said: “The data released today shows evasion remains at historically low levels, with the overwhelming majority of people ensuring they are correctly licensed. In order to be fair to the law-abiding majority who do pay for their licence, we’ll continue to pursue the people do not pay.”

He said payment options for people who find it difficult to pay in one go include a weekly cash payment plan, a savings card or a monthly direct debit scheme.

NO POINT IN PAYING.

TO FUND BBC EXECS MASSIVE SALARIES £300,000 THE LATEST APPOINTMENT.

BROADCASTING DRIVEL REALITY PROGRAMMES

PAYING HUGE MONEY TO "TALENT" JOHNATHAN ROSS FOR EXAMPLE.

THE BBC SHOULD BE EMPLOYING NEW TALENT AND WHEN THEY BLOSSON=M AND JUSTIFY BIG WAGES THEY ARE RELEASED TO THE PRIVATE BROADCAST INDUSTRY. BBC CAN NUTURE TALENT AT COMPARATIVELY LOW COST

YOU CAN WATCH WHAT YOU LIKE OFF THE INTERNET WITHOUT A LICENCE SO WHY PAY?

THE BBC ARE SAT IN THEIR OFFICES LAUGHING AT YOU AS THEY SPEND YOUR MONEY

ANYONE ELSE FEEL THE SAME WAY?

OH AND DONT TRUST THE NUMBERS IN THIS REPORT.

THEY HAVE A DIARY CARD TO OCCASSIONALLY "REPORT" THAT THEY HAVE "CAUGHT" PEOPLE BUT I DOUBT IT IS TRUE. IN THE 70s THEY HAD A TV DETECTOR VAN CRUISING ABOUT SAYING THEY COULD TELL IF YOU HAD A TELLY.

IT WAS EMPTY ... THEY WERE SAT INSIDE LAUGHING AT YOU .... AGAIN

You need a TV licence for even a Radio, You most defiantly need it for the internet as you can access the BBC website on it. Anything you can see a BBC service with needs a licence.

Not just that but if someone come into you're house with a phone watching TV you could get busted for having no licence.

Also i don't know if this still stands but hotels and nursing homes used to have to have a different licence for each room, if it had a lock on the door it was classed as if i was a new building.

I have asked to be cut off from all BBC services on the internet as i have no TV in the house, they said no and i still have to pay because i have a phone that can listen to BBC radio and the internet so can look at the BBC website.

So even though i use no BBC services i cannot prove i don't use them and the BBC wont provide a way to block them from me. So i have to pay a TV licence if i wish to have a phone in the house and the internet.

If you have no TV licence person who loves caps lock, but has the internet you might be finding yourself in some hot water if you are caught.

YOU MAY HAVE BEEN MISLED...

"Catch-up services such as the BBC iPlayer or 4oD fall under different rules and don't require a licence."

As I understand it you don't need a 'radio licence' any more; how would you licence the radio in your car if it doesn't have an address?

I strongly object to some of the 'fear factor' tactics employed by TV licensing, such as the way they will write a letter to the 'legal occupier' saying their "enforcement officers have been authorised to visit your property" which makes it sound like a court has granted bailiffs permission to kick your door in to check if you're watching telly, while in reality their office has despatched somebody with a clipboard to knock on your door, who you have no obligation to speak to.

Remember those 'TV detector vans' they used to threaten you with which seem to have all but disappeared? They'd send unlicensed properties a letter to say the detector vans were in the area, then park the van (actually little more than a minibus) in a highly visible local area such as a supermarket car park, which would scare a few more into buying a licence. The "equipment" contained within is not much more sophisticated than a list of addresses which have previously been licensed or which have been given when someone has bought a television set, and a few leaflets to drop through letterboxes to say they've knocked on the door while you were out.

The television licence is nothing more than another tax on the law-abiding.

I think you have also been misled.. You can also watch live TV on BBC iPlayer and other catch-up services - so you do require a TV Licence
