WWI battle talk

A TALK on one of the most decisive battles to take place during the opening months of the First World War will be given today, Friday.

Worcestershire and Herefordshire branch of the Western Front Association will hear the story of the battle of Nonne Bosschen – which means Nuns’ Wood – related by battlefield guide Vern Littley.

His narrative will describe how the attacking crack German troops were halted in their tracks on November 11, 1914, thus bringing the First Battle of Ypres to a close.

The meeting will be held at Callow End Village Hall, starting at 7.30pm.

Non-members are welcome.
