Centre ready for challenge
A FITNESS centre is encouraging people to “rock up in red” to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
Malvern St James Sport and Fitness Centre, in Barnards Green Road, is holding a 12-hour triathlon challenge between 7am-7pm next Friday. Members and nonmembers alike are invited to sign up to complete a minimum 10-minute slot either in the swimming pool (7am-11am), on an exercise bike (11am-3pm) or on the treadmill (3- 7pm).
Anyone taking part is encouraged to dress to reflect the “Rock up in Red” theme of the event, with a prize for bestdressed.
A cake sale, raffle, auction and other activities will take place and once the triathlon is finished there will be a chance to unwind with live music from 7pm to 11pm.
Local acts including Jenny Hallam, Lewis Boulton and Hannah Dallas and Richie Yeates are all set to perform.
Sports centre manager Mike Bourne said: “Our ethos is to help all of our members and visitors become fitter, healthier and happier.
“This ethos is also at the heart of the British Heart Foundation, so we are really excited to be working together for what is set to be our biggest annual charity event to date.”
To get involved in the triathlon visit the centre or call 01684 584638.
