A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of committing a burglary at a school in Malvern this week.

Yesterday, West Mercia Police released a CCTV image of a man they wanted to speak to about a burglary that occurred during school hours on Monday at Malvern St James girls’ school.

Between 11.30am and 3.45pm, someone entered the school and stole a handbag from an office in the basement area of the building.

Items from the handbag were found later in a toilet at Malvern Theatres.

A man in his 20s was arrested in Malvern yesterday and is currently being questioned by detectives while in custody at Worcester Police Station.

If anyone has any information about the burglary they are urged to contact West Mercia Police via the non-emergency police number 101 or information can be passed on anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
