Roofing warning

HOMEOWNERS are being urged not to buy from door-todoor salesman offering roof coating products.

Worcestershire Regulatory Service issued the warning after reports of men visiting properties in Malvern offering to jet wash roofs and spray them with a coloured coating, which is claimed keeps the heat in and the water out.

Studies have shown that the action of jet washing may cause damage to the roof tiles and the paint used by companies does not contain the thermal or waterproofing properties described.

People are advised to report any salesman canvassing for this type of work by calling Worcestershire Regulatory Services via the Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 0845 404 0506 or e-mail wrsenquiries@worcsregservic es.gov.uk.
