RESIDENTS concerned about a contentious housing development for 45 new homes in Powick will be able to air their worries at a public meeting next week.
Plans for the new estate next to the Crown pub have been submitted by Bovis Homes despite the site being removed from the South Worcestershire Development Plan.
Tom Wells, Malvern Hills District Councillor, has called the meeting.
He said the main concerns centered on the safety of the access to the site and the number of vehicles that would be using it and the expansion of Powick into open countryside.
“I have been contacted by at least two dozen residents.
This isn’t a sustainable location to be providing this number of homes,” said Coun Wells.
The meeting will take place at 6.30pm on Wednesday at Powick Primary School on Malvern Road, Powick.
The parish council will be discussing the application immediately after the meeting.
