A MAN who went out for pizza after drinking beer has been disqualified from driving.

Magistrates heard how Juan Barrera, of Blackmore Park, Hanley Swan, drank about four beers before deciding to drive his Vauxhall Corsa to Domino’s Pizza on The Tything, Worcester on Tuesday, January 8.

The 39-year-old was banned from the roads for 18 months after he was found to have 68mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath when the legal limit is 35mcg.

Matt Dodson, prosecuting, said a member of the public reported Berrera for appearing drunk in his car outside the store.

Nick Roberts, defending, said Berrera thought he was alright to drive after having about four beers and added the Spanish national claimed people in his home country who were less than two times over the limit do not go to court and get disqualified.

Barrera pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined £120 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £20.
