Cash stolen from man with learning difficulties

A MAN with learning difficulties had money stolen from him in broad daylight close to Malvern town centre yesterday.

And police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 9am.

The victim, who is in his 30s, was walking along Graham Road towards Como Road when he was approached by a man, who asked him for some money.

When he refused, the offender then reached into the front pocket of the man's jacket, took out his wallet and helped himself to a £10 note.

He gave back the wallet and walked off along Graham Road in a northerly direction towards the Link Common.

The offender is described as being white, in his 30s, 5ft 10ins tall with dark hair and clean-shaven. He was wearing a black hooded top, scruffy blue jeans and gloves. His victim told officers that he stank of alcohol.

PC Chris Taylor, who is investigating the incident, said: "This was a brazen crime against a man with learning disabilities. He is quite obviously vulnerable, and I believe he was targeted for this reason.

"If anyone witnessed the offence taking place or recognises the description of the offender, please contact me with any information."
