Vomiting havoc in hospitals Vomiting havoc in hospitals

THE winter diarrhoea and vomiting bug continues to cause disruption across Worcestershire hospitals.
Norovirus led to the closure of six wards at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and two at Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester today. The wards affected at Worcester are Laurel 1 and the stroke unit.
All three county hospitals, including Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre are closed to visitors to protect patients and visitors from norovirus.
Exceptional visiting can be arranged by prior agreement with the ward manager. The ward should be contacted directly for information.
Outpatient appointments were running as normal though people were urged not to attend if they had experienced vomiting or diarrhoea in the last 48 hours.
