POLICE are trying to trace a cyclist who bumped into stab victim Adrian Locke on the day he died.
Mr Locke was found by paramedics with stab wounds outside 42a Teme Road, Tolladine, at about 7.20pm on Wednesday, January 2 but some time during the afternoon he was involved in a collision with another cyclist near the shops on Rose Avenue.
Witnesses say the 39-year-old was knocked off his bike and the other cyclist, described as a white man in 30s or 40s, went to the nearby shops and bought him a bottle of brandy to apologise.
Detective Sergeant Pete Sherwood said: "We are currently piecing together Adrian Locke's movements on the day he was stabbed and we have been told by a number of witnesses about this incident.
"We would like to speak to the gentleman involved as he may have some information that could prove useful to our investigation."
Despite the efforts of the paramedics, Mr Locke, of Wych Road, Droitwich, was confirmed dead at the scene by a doctor a short while later.
Two men have since been arrested and charged in relation to his death, and the police investigation continues to gather evidence.
Anyone with information should call police on the non-emergency number 101.
