Floods no match for levels reached in 2007

RECENT flood levels pale into insignificance next to the devastating floods of the summer of 2007 figures show.
Dave Throup, Environment Agency manager for Worcestershire and Herefordshire, tweeted the flood peaks for the last few years.
The peak level in the summer of 2007 was 5.30metres at Diglis in Worcester, nearly a metre higher than the 4.49m peak recorded in December/ January.
At Upton the figure was 5.93m in the summer floods of 2007 and 5.20m in December/January. Mr Throup said: “I think people that remember the floods of 2007 will know the difference.
“There’s up to one metre difference. There has been a couple of years of drought so there haven’t been that many high levels.
“These floods are probably the highest since early 2008.”
