Grow your own fruit

KEEN gardeners are being offered the chance to do their bit to protect Worcestershire’s orchard heritage.

Worcestershire County Council, in partnership with Walcot Organic Nursery, is providing a selection of organic fruit trees including five varieties of apples, two varieties of pears and two varieties of plums, from just £14.50 until March 15.

Wade Muggleton, senior community greenspace officer, said: “This is a great opportunity for people to grow their own little bit of Worcestershire heritage.

“There are some great varieties of fruit trees in the county and it would be a shame if we lost any of them.”
