Holywell visit

PUPILS quenched their thirst for knowledge by visiting an historic Malvern well.

Youngsters at Malvern Wells Primary School made a trip to Holywell Spring as part of their Victorian project.

They were greeted by Rhys Humm, director of Holywell Malvern Spring Water, who gave the children a tour of the spring and the bottling room.

Pupils were then set a quiz on the history of Malvern’s springs and also experienced the water cure – a treatment made popular in the Victorian era, which involved wrapping a patient in cold blankets, dunking them in cold water and having it poured down their backs to improve circulation.
