Lifesaving boost

LOCAL lifesavers have been boosted by a £5,000 grant from a charitable trust of a renowned composer who lives in West Malvern.
The Paul Farrer Charitable Trust has awarded the grant to the Worcester and Malvern Community First Responders scheme.
The trust was set up by Paul Farrer, who has provided soundtracks for dozens of TV, film and radio productions, including The Weakest Link.
Under the scheme, volunteers are trained in lifesaving techniques by West Midlands Ambulance Service so they can be sent to medical emergencies in their area while an ambulance is en route.
Peter Binney, coordinator of the scheme, said: “The grant will go towards getting extra lifesaving equipment and running our local CFR response car.”
