LATE-running engineering work and other problems meant disruption for rail travellers in Worcestershire this morning.
A train from London Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street, due to arrive at 11.41am, was cancelled becise of work overrunning in the Maidenhead area, and a service from Great Malvern back to London, which should have departed at 9.54am, was cancelled becasue of a train fault.
The 12.06pm from Worcester Foregate Street to London will now only go as far as Oxford. Train operator First Great Western is advising passengers not to travel unless their journey is essential.
London Midland services in the Birmingham area were also delayed today, with the company saying there were limited platforms available at Birmingham New Street after engineering work.
A number of services between Birmingham New Street and Hereford, passing through Ledbury, Malvern and Worcester, will have fewer coaches than usual, due to train faults.
