Motorcyclist killed in crash
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Pershore last night.
Station Road was closed in both directions at the junction with Mill Lane for more than four hours following the collision between a Silver Suzuki GZ125 and a white VW Passat just after 6pm last night.
Paramedics attended, but the rider, a man in his 40s, was declared dead at the scene at 6.27pm.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival at the scene crews found a motorcyclist and a car that had been in collision.
“The motorcyclist, a man, was assessed by ambulance crews but sadly it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased at the scene. No one else was injured in this incident.”
The road remained closed until 10.30pm while the crash scene was dealt with and investigators collected evidence.
The driver of the Passat, a man in his 50s who was unharmed, was arrested by officers on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He has been released on police bail while inquiries into the collision continue.
PC Chris Shewring said: “Sadly, our ambulance service colleagues could do nothing for the motorcyclist and he was declared dead shortly after we attended the collision.
“It now our duty to investigation the circumstances that led to the man's death and I would like to appeal to anyone who saw the collision and hasn't yet spoken to an officer, to contact West Mercia Police at the earliest opportunity.
“I would also like to ask anyone who saw either the Passat or the Suzuki bike driving in the moments before the collision to get in touch.”
PC Shewring can be contacted via the non-emergency police number 101 or information can be passed on anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, quoting reference number 142-N-181212.

A man has lost his life a week before Christmas !
Will you people stop using this tragedy for your own political means and show some respect!
My thoughts are with his family at this dreadful time.

It never fails to astound me how insensitive some people can be just because they're posting on the internet.
