A MALVERN man who developed an interest in pornography when he was 16 had sexual intercourse with a 12- year-old girl, Worcester Crown Court was told.

Adam Pullen also rigged up a spy camera in a friend’s bathroom and took pictures of a 19-year-old girl as she was showering, said prosecutor Jason Aris.

Pullen, now 20, of Orford Way, was 18 when he had sex with the 12-year-old, who had a crush on him.

He pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a child, voyeurism and possessing indecent photographs of a child on his computer.

He was sent to a Young Offenders Institution for three years and made the subject of Sexual Offences Prevention Order banning uncontrolled use of the internet for 10 years. He also signed the Sex Offenders Register for a similar period. Mr Aris said social services investigated after they were made aware of rumours at a school.

He first denied having intercourse but it was confirmed by a medical examination.

Simon Burn, defending, said there had been no coercion in the relationship and it had been experimental behaviour by two youngsters. Pullen had obtained the spy camera through a magazine.

He had lost his job and had wanted to go to university or join the police.

Both these options were no longer available.

His family had been supportive and his mother told the court that she had tried to guide him and was still proud of him.

Judge Patrick Thomas QC said Pullen would serve half his sentence in custody and he would be on licence for the remainder.
