West Malvern in real thriller

WEST MALVERN 4, UNIVERSITY OF WORCESTER 4.

WEST Malvern had to settle for a share of the points after going down to an 89th minute equaliser.

They could not have got off to a worse start as the University went in front after five minutes. Although West Malvern showed strength and character the side continued to look for an equaliser.

West Malvern scored on 42 minutes when Dave Kelme bundled the ball home.

The lead was short-lived as Worcester went in front after 50 minutes with a superb strike from 25 yards. They went into a 3-1 lead when poor defending allowed the ball to be forced home.

Once again West Malvern showed character and Nick Lancett scored from close range, then Tristram Tyler scored from 25 yards.

After 80 minutes West Malvern went 4-3 in front when Tristram Tyler was there to force the ball home.

With time running out West Malvern looked as though they had secured the victory they deserved.

But they would be cruelly denied in the 89th minute when a clearance from centre-back Andy Pugh hit Paul Milne and rebounded into the net.
