AN action-packed musical adventure for the whole family will tell the story of an idyllic era of endless summer evenings and the beauty of youthful imagination this week.

Audiences at Malvern Theatres will be asked to board the Swallow and follow Captain John and his able crew from Tuesday to Saturday, March 3, in Swallows and Amazons.

Both young and old can set sail to Wildcat Island on an exotic adventure to encounter savages, capture dastardly pirates, and defeat mortal enemies from the comfort of their chairs in the Festival Theatre.

The new musical is presented by the Children’s Touring Partnership and directed by Tom Morris, who also co-directed the international smash-hit War Horse.

Based on the book by Arthur Ransome this enchanting and imaginative version has been written by Helen Edmundson and features music written by Neil Hannon, who is perhaps best known as the creator and frontman of camber pop group The Divine Comedy.

It will showcase the power of an active imagination as the world of John, Susan, Titty and Roger Walker is transformed on a sailing trip while holidaying in the Lake District”.

Tickets range from £14.50-£22.50 for adults and admission for children is £8.
