AT the Courtyard in Hereford, a dog’s life includes going to the cinema, apparently.

In fact, the venue is about to hold its first ever dog friendly screening this week, and you won’t be considered a basket case, or barking mad, if you bring your movie-loving pooch along for company.

The film of choice, suitably enough, will be the new release Patrick, which is all about a spoilt pug and the mayhem he causes in the life of a reluctant owner.

A spokesman for The Courtyard said: “Have you always wanted to bring your dog to the cinema with you? Well now you can! The Courtyard are offering a one off opportunity to bring your pooch to a Dog Friendly Screening of Patrick (PG).

“Patrick (PG) follows a young woman whose life is in a mess and is made much worse when she inherits her grandmother’s pug, Patrick.

“The four-legged interloper proceeds to cause chaos but with all his stubby, stumpy attitude, he begins to turn her life around.”

Human stars of Patrick, which is a home-grown British comedy, include Beattie Edmondson as Sarah, the reluctant dog owner, and Ed Skrein as the vet.

Comedy legend Jennifer Saunders is also in the line-up.

The film was released at the end of June.

The comfort of a four legged friends will be paramount at the Courtyard screening.

The spokesman added: “The Courtyard is delighted to be hosting this unique Dog Friendly Screening, but before booking please kindly consider the friendliness, behaviour and comfort in crowded spaces of your four legged friends.”

Pets at Home have kindly donated dog friendly items in support of this screening so pooches can feel right at home.

The spokesman said: “Bring your furry friend along to this barking mad event where you are guaranteed to have a pawesome time!”

Patrick (PG) Dog Friendly Screening will be in The Courtyard’s Studio Theatre this Friday August 3, at 2.30pm.
