IT'S only a short hop to June, when ski-jumper Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards will be dropping into Malvern Theatres,

As Britain’s first Olympic Ski jumper, Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards became an overnight sensation when, at the 1988 Calgary’s Winter Olympics.

He lost out on medals by a long way, but won a place in the nation’s hearts for his positive attitude that embodied the true spirit of the Olympics

Now, following the hit 2016 movie starring Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman and the subsequent renewed interest in his life, Eddie is touring the UK with his Try Hard show, and he's bracing himself for a run down to Malvern.

A spokesman said: "In Try Hard, Eddie talks through his incredible life-journey; from self-learning ski-jumping and being shunned by the sporting establishment, to the extensive surgery to rebuild his face and body following years of wince-inducing crashes on the snow.

"What will shine through is the steely resilience of a fearless man determined to overcome huge sporting and life hurdles in an evening of anecdotes from one of Britain’s most heroic sporting underdogs."

The date will be Thursday, June 8.
