A STORM'S heading to Worcester, and it's nothing to do with the weather and everything to do with comedy.

The Calman Before the Storm show will bring "a tiny lady with nothing to lose" to the faithful city.

Susan Calman wants to set the record straight, let's get that straight.

A spokesman said: "She is ready to rip through all preconceptions of her once and for all as she tours her newest show, The Calman Before the Storm.

"She is thought of as polite, well-mannered, yet she has been known to swear. She is on CBBC a lot and children love her, yet her 4 year old niece is the most terrifying human being she can imagine. She also challenges assumptions about her political stance, her height, her nationality and her sexuality."

The spokesman added: "Having worked on Death Row and at the United Nations in Geneva as a former corporate lawyer, Susan decided to give up her promising career to become a comedian in 2006 when she reached the semi-finals of the BBC New Comedy and So You Think You’re Funny Awards.

"In 2007 she was part of sell-out Fringe show Ugly Kid which went on to become Channel 4’s Blowout and whose cast was awarded a Scottish BAFTA that same year."

Her numerous radio credits include The News Quiz, The Unbelievable Truth, Now Show, Dilemma, ISIHAC, So Wrong it’s Right and she has even presented Woman’s Hour, all for Radio 4.

She is currently working on Too Much TV for BBC2 and she will soon host 30 episodes of a new CBBC quiz show, Top Class.

Susan will come to Worcester's Huntingdon Hall on Saturday, May 13.

Tickets on, 01905 611 427.
