WICKED, the West End and Broadway musical phenomenon that tells the previously untold story of the Witches of Oz, will return to the Birmingham Hippodrome in 2018 for a limited run.

A spokesman said: "One of the most successful productions in the venue’s history, Wicked was previously seen by over 110,000 people - equivalent to 1 in 10 of the entire population of Birmingham - during its celebrated engagement from July to September, 2014."

Executive Producer Michael McCabe said: “We were overwhelmed by the incredible response from audiences and critics alike when we first brought Wicked to Birmingham.

The whole team at the Birmingham Hippodrome showed such tremendous enthusiasm and support, and we’re all really delighted to return to this truly magnificent venue.”

Birmingham Hippodrome Chief Executive and Artistic Director Fiona Allan said: “We’re very excited that Wicked is coming back to Birmingham Hippodrome next year for an impressive 31 shows, and can’t wait to enjoy this bewitching performance along with thousands of people across our Midlands region.”

The date will be April 4 to April 29, 2018.
