WORCESTERSHIRE people have two musical chances this autumn to find a bridge over troubled waters, or to enjoy the sound of silence, with a live band.

Following its West End success at the Leicester Square Theatre in London, "The Simon and Garfunkel Story" is finally on tour.

It will come to the Artrix Theatre in Bromsgrove on Thursday, September 1 and the Festival Theatre, Malvern, on Friday, September 9.

A spokesman said; "Has it really been 50 years since the most successful folk/rock duo of all time recorded their first number1 hit single?

"The Simon and Garfunkel Story' is currently the biggest and the most successful International touring theatre show celebrating the lives and career of Folk/Rock sensation Simon and Garfunkel."

The spokesman added: "Featuring the seasoned West End, leading man Greg Clarke, the show takes you back through the 'Groovy' times of the 1960s.

" It tells the story of both Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel from their humble beginnings as Rock n Roll duo 'Tom and Jerry', right through their massive success, dramatic break-up and finishing with a stunning recreation of the 1981 Central Park reformation concert."

The show used a large projection screen, featuring 1960’s photos and film footage.

A full live band will perform all the hits including 'Mrs Robinson', 'Cecilia', 'Bridge Over Troubled Water', 'Homeward Bound' and 'Sound of Silence'

Tickets for Artrix are on 01527 577330, and for Malvern Theatres on, 01684 892277.
