THE long-serving lead guitarist of a Pink Floyd tribute act has decided to call ‘time’ on his time with the band.

And his last bow with ‘Dark Side Of The Wall’ will be at The Swan Theatre in Worcester on Saturday April 28.

You’ll wish you were there, if you love Pink Floyd’s music.

The band’s manager and bass player Steve Chilton said: “This year’s show promises to be an emotional occasion as it will be the last appearance with the band of their long-serving lead guitarist, Andy Nixon.

“Andy joined us in 2004 and having played nearly 200 shows has decided the time has come to move on in order to take up a full-time career in the music industry.

“We’re going to miss him that’s for sure, as both a musician and a friend. However, it’s fitting that his final show with us will be at a theatre where we’ve all enjoyed so many great nights over the years. I’m sure the local people who support our annual Swan Theatre shows will take this opportunity to see us with Andy one last time.”

Steve added: “This is not all bad news though; we auditioned new guitarists earlier this year following Andy’s decision, and we’re thrilled to announce we have the excellent Adrian Stokes joining us following the Swan Theatre show. Meantime, we’re determined to put everything into enjoying Andy’s swansong in front of our Worcester-based fans.”

In well over 2 hours of reverent tribute to their heroes, and accompanied by a spectacular light show complete with laser and video projections, the band will perform music from all Pink Floyd’s classic albums and feature tracks such as Comfortably Numb, Money, Shine On You Crazy Diamond and Another Brick In The Wall to name just a few.

Steve said: “If you’ve seen Dark Side Of The Wall in concert before then you’ll know it’s a show not to be missed.”
