TALK about looking ahead - The Courtyard in Hereford has already announced details of it’s varied summer season.

A spokesman said: “A host of famous faces will be taking to the stage from May to August with comedian Brian Conley appearing on Friday May 18 and bringing his brand new show to The Courtyard.

“And the comedian Jethro will return on June 15.”

Families can enjoy the award-winning West End production of David Walliams’ Gangsta Granny from May 8 to May 12.

Walliams’ is the UK’s best-selling author for children and tickets are selling quickly for this ‘grantastic’ production.

The spokesman added: “For football enthusiasts there is an opportunity to spend the evening listening to legendary footballer Geoff Hurst, on Wednesday June 20, and BBC’s Kate Humble will make an appearance before then, on May 22.

“For drama fans there is an eclectic selection of performances to choose from this season. Red Ladder Theatre Company will present The Damned United (May 19), adapted from David Peace’s novel about Brian Clough’s time at Leeds United.”

And 2Magpies Theatre return to The Courtyard in June with Last Resort, on June 21, a show described as “a multi-sensory performance exploring an alternative future for Guantanamo Bay”.

The spokesman added: “Also returning to Hereford is Dyad Productions who will present Elton Townend Jones’ radical new interpretation of the HG Wells classic, The Time Machine (July 28).

“A highlight of the season will be Best of Brass (June 9), a fundraising concert for The Courtyard and The Music Pool featuring Bedwas, Trethomas and Machen Band, talented youngsters from Herefordshire Music Service and Ledbury Community Brass Band.
