CHICAGO the Musical is hot, sexy and sassy, Bob Fosse the original director/choreographer appropriately began his career in the city.

Based on a true story of female murderers locked up the the notorious Cook County Jail waiting to stand trial this musical was created by the John Kander/Fred Ebb collaboration.

A star cast that includes the charismatic Billy Flynn as the smarmy lawyer who charms his clients before taking the court room and is ultimately triumphant. John Partridge is perhaps better known for having played Christian in Eastenders for over five years and his appearances in the West End.

Diminutive Hayley Tamaddon as Roxie Hart ex Emmerdale, Coronation Street and former winner of Dancing On Ice in 2010 is a bundle of joy - one of my favourite parts of the show is her magnificent rag doll performance.

I distinctly enjoyed Sophie Carmen-Jones portrayal as the notorious Velma Kelly, Roxie's main rival.

Real life prison officer and The X Factor winner Sam Bailey was Matron 'Mama' Morton.

Neil Ditt, Roxie's wuss of a husband Amos Hart was endearing during his rendition of Mister Cellophane.

A marvellous production full of Razzle Dazzle and All That Jazz supported by a tremendous cast of male/female singers and dancers dressed in various stylish and daring black outfits.

One of the biggest cheers of the evening was for Musical Director Ben Atkinson who in addition to conducting his wonderful orchestra uniquely entertained the audience, what a showman.

Runs until Saturday, 9th July at the Bristol Hippodrome.
