Blade Runner may be set in a dystopian future, but for actress Daryl Hannah, working on the sci fi movie was more like heaven.

The 54-year-old actress played violent punk android Pris in Ridley Scott’s 1982 classic, starring Harrison Ford.

Daryl revealed: “It was my first big movie and I was living in paradise. I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m in another world!’

“You can feel it [when a film's working], you really can. When something gels, it gels, it’s the same thing for sports or anything.”

The actress, who’s appeared on both the small and big screen in over 80 projects, experienced the same feeling on Splash, the 1984 movie in which she appeared as a mermaid opposite Tom Hanks, 1989′s weepy Steel Magnolias, and the 2003 and 2004 Kill Bill volumes.

“It’s weird how they stay alive, you know?” she said.

Daryl’s latest role is as otherworldly creature Angel in Sense8. The new Netflix sci fi show is a 12-part series created and written by siblings Lana and Andrew Wachowski, the creative minds behind the mind-bending Matrix trilogy, Cloud Atlas and the recent Jupiter Ascending.

Daryl said: “There’s a small handful of things that I look back on fondly, and now this [Sense8] has entered that handful, which is really exciting. Having worked so long, you know when you’re working on something that is unique.”

Sense8 is available on Netflix now.
