Piano star plays at Hereford

RISING piano star Jill Crossland is giving a recital at Holy Trinity Church, Hereford, on Saturday, September 15 at 7.30 pm.

Jill is forging a successful career, including regular appearances at the Wigmore Hall and recitals at the Bridgewater Hall, and the Vienna Musikverein.

Her recordings include the Bach Goldberg Variations on Warner Classics, through which she featured in the 2005 Classic FM Hall of Fame.

She will be playing the state-of-the-art Steinway piano recently bought for the venue by the Museum of Cider Trust.

Her programme will include Handel's Suite No 5 (Harmonious Blacksmith), Bach's Chromatic Fantasia and Fugue, Beethoven's Bagatelles Op 126 and Tempest Sonata, and Chopin's Scherzo No 1.
