THE Worcester-based impresario, John Banner, says he's about to "call time on an incredible career", a career which will end on his 75th birthday.

And he has been busy lining up a hat-trick of acts to bid farewell in style and with a bang.

A spokesman said: "Before he lindy hops his way off into the sunset he'll be bringing the house down and going out with a bang with not one, not two, but three barnstorming gigs at Huntingdon Hall."

The Billy Fury Dance Party, featuring Rob Dee & Rock Til Ya Drop, was arranged for the Huntingdon Hall on Saturday, March 11.

On Sunday April 9 , at 7pm "the extraordinary keyboard talents of Steve Wicketts", and Malvern's very own The Pontiacs, and international singing star Debbie Miles will take an audience down Memory Lane to the stirring days of early Rock 'n' Roll.

This show will be called "Goodness Gracious Great Balls of Fire", after the Jerry Lee classic.

Finally, on St George's Day, April 23, at 7pm, The Searchers will entertain at Huntingdon Hall and John will host his final show, on his 75th birthday, as it happens.

A spokesman said: "This is it - John Banner's fourteenth and last Saint George's Day Concert featuring The Sensational Searchers.

"Hosted by John Banner himself, the concert will include all of the hits, finishing with a spine-tingling, flag-waving version of You'll Never Walk Alone, bringing the curtain down on both the show and John's impresario career – don't miss your last opportunity, be there!"
