WINE Critic, Oz Clarke, is set to end up singing at Malvern Theatres.

Oz will be raising a glass to music with the renowned Armonico Consort, in a event that will mix a wine tasting with an appreciation of harmony and counterpoint.

A spokesman said: "Taste different wines guided by the UK’s best loved wine critic while being entertained with live music.

"It is a little known fact that writer, wine critic and broadcaster Oz Clarke was a singer for many years. Join us for this special evening of entertainment and you just may get to hear him sing too."

In fact, the experience is likely to the pleasant, as Oz was once a chorister at Canterbury Cathedral and then won a choral scholarship to The King's School at Canterbury.

The spokesman added: "In a completely unique programme Oz and Armonico Consort investigate the spurious links between wine and music – and a highly entertaining evening is guaranteed."

Ticket price includes three tasting glasses of wine to accompany the performance.

The date for the diary is Saturday, February 4, from 7.15pm, at Malvern's Forum Theatre.
