COMEDIENNE Shappi Khorsandi will be bringing her own quirky brand of humour to The Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury on Saturday, March 5.
Shappi, a regular on Radio 4 and on television, became a refugee in the early 80s, or in her words “long before it became fashionable.” Nevertheless having left Tehran for London Shappi and her family were not safe. As assassins chased after them they went into hiding and tried to live a normal life - seeing friends, going to school, checking under the car for bombs.
