ONE of the world’s UK’s most inventive choreographers Henri Oguike presents a stunning new dance show at Malvern Theatres on Thursday, February 10.
The show will be a triple bill with a hand-picked quintet of world-class dancers.
The first piece Freq will take the audience by surprise. An unusual and intense piece inspired by physical playfulness, this is a departure from Oguike’s usual style. Point of Contact on the other hand bears the hallmarks of his unique choreography with sensuality and beauty combined with movement. The piece is held together by a piece of solo cello music by JS Bach. Finally Butterfly Dreaming, a full company work, draws inspiration from the Far East and is based on Chinese philosopher poet Chuang-Tzu’s butterfly dream. The piece is set to Tan Dun’s dramatic Ghost Opera, recorded by the Kronos Quartet.
The Henri Oguike Dance Company will be performing at 7.30pm and tickets range from £10 to £14. There will be a free pre-show discussion at 6.30pm which should be booked in advance.
