THE highly acclaimed National Dance Company Wales will be bringing its latest dynamic stage show to Hereford’s Courtyard theatre for one night only later this month.
On Thursday, September 30 the company, formerly known as Diversions, will be performing works by two of the biggest names in the business.
The double-bill will comprise Romance Inverse, from Netherlands-based choreographer Itzik Galili, and By Singing Light, a new Stephen Petronio work.
Romance Inverse uses composer Steve Reich's 'Six Marimbas' and a new score commissioned from percussion troupe Percossa to create a theatrical and daring with exquisite use of lighting.
By Singing Light was created in conjunction with NDC Wales and brings together a fusion of dance, fashion and music, combining the New Yorker’s distinctive style with a ravishing score that includes Welsh choral music.
NDC Wales’ artistic director Ann Sholem said: “This is going to be an exciting new season with two energetic, imaginative and sympathetic choreographers whose work I have followed closely and been keen to introduce to UK audiences.”
The performance starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £12.50-15 (concessions £11.50-14). To book call 01432 340555 or visit courtyard.org.uk.
