Leading developer Barratt Homes has bolstered its land team with a new Strategic Land Manager as it looks to increase its new homes developments across the local region.

Jo Hess, an experienced Land Manager with more than 10 years in the residential development industry, has been taken on in the new role, which will see her expanding Barratt Homes’ presence in the West Midlands.

Jo, 34, from Lichfield, said: “Having worked for smaller developers for the past three years, I saw this new role with Barratt Homes as a great opportunity for me to progress and put my skills to use over a much wider area.

“Barratt is the largest homebuilder by volume in the UK, but the firm is continuing to step up production even further because buyers remain eager for well-made new homes in great locations, and this high demand makes it vital to ensure a steady supply of land suitable for development.”

Achieving her Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Qualification in Planning and Development in 2009, Jo brings with her a long list of handy contacts and considerable knowledge of the local housing and land market.

Richard Miller, Land Director for Barratt Homes West Midlands, said, “Jo is already proving a valuable addition to our team and has hit the ground running in this new role. We welcome her onboard, as we look forward to increasing development across the West Midlands.”

Barratt Homes West Midlands has been awarded the maximum five star official rating from the Home Builders Federation (HBF) for the eighth year in a row. The news was announced after more than 20,000 new home buyers across the country took part in this year’s HBF customer satisfaction survey.
