IT was certainly a red letter day for the newly crowned Miss Worcestershire Laura Beth Morgan when she appeared at a trade fair at the NEC wearing a colourful dress made from 400 greetings cards.

The 24-year-old TV and film production assistant showed off the evening gown created out of 400 cards from the extensive portfolio of more than 2000 every day and seasonal designs by county greetings card publishers Cherry Orchard.

Business co-founder and owner Jackie Collins explained: "Having a strong visual impact is a vital part of product development for greetings card publishers and we were hoping to make a lasting impression at the show and stand out from the crowd with Laura’s eye-catching display and a warm invitation for guests to socialise with the team and get involved with some of the fun-filled competitions we lined up, with prizes including £500 worth of Christmas Card Stock for 2016 and even a chance to win a brand new iPad for those following up a free trial pack with a sales visit request. We’ve already had a fantastic start to the year, finding out our brand new line of bone China Down Memory Lane mugs have made it right through to the finals in the Gift of the Year Award 2016 held by the Giftware Association.

"We were delighted to have Laura on board. She’s a great ambassador for the greetings cards trade, catching the Miss Worcestershire judges’ eyes with her own dress of 250 recycled Christmas Cards in the recent beauty competition."

Miss Morgan added: "“Exchanging cards is a small, simple gesture that means so much and when I walked down the aisle with my dress made of cards, it was a way of taking all my friends and family with me on the first steps of my exciting new adventure. I’m thrilled to have got this far and looking forward to what lies ahead."
