Fire crews came from across the county

FIRE crews came from across the county to tackle last night's major blaze at a Malvern trading estate.

Malvern and then Worcester provided the first response crews fighting the blaze, but as the night went on, relief crews were sent to the scene from Upton, Pershore and Hereford.

An aerial platform from Worcester and a water carrier from Evesham were among the appliances on the scene.

Fire brigade spokesman Alec Mackie said there were 54 calls from the public about the blaze.

He said the smoke plume stretched across Herefordshire, with one witness at Fromes Hill thinking that the Malvern Hills were on fire.
