I paid my physio a visit this week to sort out the discomfort in my hip that I mentioned in last weeks blog.

I wanted to ‘nip the problem in the bud’, but ended with a needle in the bum, several actually. However, the acupuncture seems to have done the trick, as I had no pain today.

Poor old Ron did though, he also experienced something sharp in the rear end... the rear end of his bike, that is, when he got a flat in his back tyre with a mile and a half still to go to get back to the car.

I have pounded out 32 miles around Malvern during the course of this week finishing with a relatively flat 10-miler today (Sunday) on some lovely country roads around The Earls Croome Estate.

The roads were quiet and the scenery fantastic.

Once again Ron had plotted the route with the O.S. map and map wheel, a fiddly job but worthwhile as it’s great to have a different route to run each time we go out.

However, somebody overheard us talking about this the other day in the gym, and he told us that there are websites on the Internet that do the very same job, only a lot easier. They are www.walkjogrun.net and www.mapmyrun. Both sites use similar and easy to use technology; only thing is they don’t seem to show contour lines. The last thing you want to do when running long distances is come across a 1:4 gradient that goes on forever. Now that would be a pain in the rear!

Next week the mileage stays similar finishing with a ‘race’ on Sunday, The Mayhill Massacre. More on this next week, if I survive it.
