WE were interested to read the account of the Malvern Hills District Police and Community Consultative Group's recent meeting (Malvern Gazette, September 7) and the assertion by Insp. Clive Griffiths that "the government's idea of introducing a Mediterranean-style café culture was never going to work in this country." While we understand the concerns over problems associated with the new licensing laws, we would suggest that a visit to Pepper & Oz during an evening would be most beneficial to anyone who does not believe that a Mediterranean-style café culture could be introduced into Malvern - it has been. read more
I AM amazed at Worcestershire County Council in cutting the bus service on the Brook Farm estate to every two hours after 9am. In the past few years we have seen the service dwindle from two an hour, to one an hour and now every two hours. They have invested in a 42A service which runs to Court Road, St. Andrew's Road to Fruitlands, so the Fruitlands estate remains with a bus an hour. read more
The announcement by Shaw Healthcare that not every resident living in Leadon Bank, Ledbury, will be offered a room in the new building comes as no surprise whatsoever. read more
I WOULD be interested to know if any of your readers are related to Frederick Charles Morris, who was a member of the Worcestershire Regiment, lived in Malvern, and was killed in Azerbaijan in 1918-19. If they are I have a photo of his war memorial which I can send them. read more
Carrying on from my letter (Your Letters, September 7) I have been in touch with First buses and Astons Coaches. Both companies do not accept each others tickets on their busses. So if you want to journey from Fruitlands to the centre of Malvern Link people will have to buy two separate single or return tickets, costing twice as much for the journey as from other parts of Malvern. read more
