  • Echoes from the past

    100 years ago Mr Arthur C Nott has recently opened a cafe at his grocery and provision establishment in Church Street. The cafe, which is situated on the ground floor, is not of very large dimensions, but it has been equipped in such a manner as to ensure the greatest possible comfort. The apartment is fitted with electric light and is delightfully cool. The furnishing has been carried out in oak, in antique style. So arranged is the cafe that is can be shut off entirely from the grocery department. Afternoon teas and ices are provided at popular prices and Mr Nott may expect extensive patronage.
