100 years ago If ever the weather was the prevailing topic, it is now. It is not merely those who never can find any other congenial subject for conversation, who have been making their opinions freely known on this absorbing question lately. Nobody can find either time or opportunity to talk about anything else but umbrellas, coats, waterproofs, except to growl at the prospect of having no holiday this year, through the lack of suitable weather conditions.
