WORK to replace vital components on Malvern's TV transmitter mast took place today.
A large crane parked in Lodge Drive on the eastern flank of North Hill yesterday, in readiness for today's work.
And starting this morning, the work crew carried out their task of replacing the transmitting antenna at the top of the mast.
The replacement had been completed by lunchtime and the crane is being taken down now.
A spokesman from communications infrastructure firm Arqiva, which owns the transmitter, said: “The work taking place at the Malvern transmitter is to replace the UHF cylinder, which sits at the top of the tower."
A temporary antenna had been installed and the work was not expected to cause any interruption to TV signals.
