MALVERN traders put their imaginations to work when they entered the annual window-dressing competition organised by Malvern Town Council.
The competition, which this year had a Christmas panto theme, was judged by the Mayor Cynthia Palmer, and John Raine, chairman of Malvern Hills District Council.
Iapetus Gallery on Belle Vue Terrace, Dynastic Arts on Church Street, and St Richard’s Hospice in Barnards Green were the three winners; each taking home a hamper of Christmas goodies.
Dilys Watson, the town council's events officer, said: "Iapetus chose an Aladdin-themed display featuring a magic lamp and enough chocolate treasure to fill a chest; Dynastic Art’s Snow White display included visual tricks using a mirror to show a cleverly positioned evil queen; and St Richard’s Hospice managed to put together an incredible display of Aladdin-esque costumes with their donations."
"Bridal Gallery, Barnards Green Post Office, and St Richard’s Bookshop all came highly commended for their amazing efforts. It is especially worth mentioning the incredible Cinderella carriage and ballgown, complete with little silver birds to hold it up, created by the Bridal Gallery."
