A MALVERN resident has been celebrating a milestone birthday with friends and family.

Trudie Haines celebrated her centenary at the St Agnes Centre in Cricklewood Lane, on November 21.

A special party was put on which included live music provided by the 100-year-old, who entertained guests with a piano performance.

She was also presented with a three tier birthday cake, and everyone enjoyed a glass of bubbly.

The 100-year-old said: "I had the most wonderful birthday.

"While it was indeed a pleasure to receive my birthday card from the Queen, having the opportunity to celebrate this great landmark with my nearest and dearest was the best present I could have wished for.

"I am so grateful to the friends that I have made here at Cartwright Court for organising this terrific party in my honour."

Robert Monkman, from home owners McCarthy and Stone West Midlands, said: "It was fantastic to help Trudie and her friends and family mark this special occasion.

"It was great to see everyone celebrating together and taking the opportunity to mark this incredible milestone.”
