CELEBRITIES from top children’s television programmes will be the stars of this year’s Christmas lights switch-on in Malvern.

Amy Thompson from Channel 5’s Milkshake and Chris Pizzey from the Basil Brush Show will be flicking the switch to mark the countdown to Christmas on Saturday, November 26

The pair will be starring in this year's pantomime at Malvern Theatres, Sleeping Beauty.

The switch-on is part of the Great Malvern Christmas Festival. Activities start at 10am, including a fine food and craft market, Santa's grotto, live music, refreshments, a parade of lanterns and much more The switch-on itself will be at 6pm on Belle Vue Terrace.

Cllr Phil Grove, leader of Malvern Hills District Council, said: “The Christmas festival is a lovely way to start the Christmas season in this wonderful town, and gives us the opportunity to support the many great local businesses we have in the area.

“Last year’s festival was packed, with a great lively atmosphere, and we hope that people will once again enjoy all the festive delights on offer.”
