USERS of Ripple Parish Hall are delighted with the new floor, which was installed this summer in a £30,000 renovation project.

The hall was built over 70 years ago and in recent years problems with the floor subsiding had become increasingly evident.

An inspection revealed that joists holding up the floor had rotted away and complete replacement was the only course of action. And appeal was launched to rund the repairs, and earlier this summer, the work was started.

Now that ist is finished, hall users are delighted with how it turned out, says John Bennett of the management committee.

He said: "The short-mat bowling club is particularly pleased, because the warped floor made their games really difficult.

"A member of the club accosted me, and said that only now are they learning to play properly.

"The yoga and pilates classes that use the hall will also appreciate the new under-floor insulation as the temperatures start to fall for winter."

The renovation also increased the capacity of the hall to 110 and replaced the electrical system.
